I had a chance to pick up a slightly used Remington 870 with extended magazine. So I bought it, and took it to the range. I have to say, I love the way the 20 ga. handles. Very easy on the shoulder, and amazingly accurate. I shot slugs at 75 feet, and grouped 10 shots within 5" of center target. Incredible considering it has bead rear sight only. I always believed it was 12 ga. or nothing, but I really enjoy this shotgun. Much easier on my old body. I'm hooked.

I have always thought a 20ga was a good all round gun for small game and even deer. I have two 20s but both are single shot, i believe you will find it to be an effective shotgun.

chk out a rifled barrel for it and use sabots, you will be amazed at the accuracy.they now make a 20 gauge sabot with more velocity than the 12. old semperfi
