With the Savage 11, I'm planning on taking Josh's advice and information on helping out the accuracy. But before I done anything with the stock, I wanted to try it out past 100 yards.
So I set up a 3 quart water jug up at a lasered 400yds and in a kneeling position with a rest off the 4 wheeler, took a couple of shots.

On the water jug, I had a small piece of silver duct tape as a point of aim
reference mark to see better wich it did fly off.
The wind was the biggest battle....about 2-4mph coming from the 10'oclock
postion. (shot between the breaks in the wind)
I was useing Hornady 40gr. V-Max ammo with a BSA Platinum,
8-32x44AO/IR.....took two shots and thought I'd get set up at a lasered 600 yards and will post the results on that in another posting. (too many pics)

Yes sir, they do! I found my low miss at the 600yd mark and it was fragmented....found pieces of jacketed copper here and there and did find the base/core, what was left of it. It had hit a small rock just below the target.

i hit a goat at about 340 , hit the spine just shy of the skull and blew the other side out like something took a bite outta it sheeesh ..

but i've had them drill through a skull and leave a rather small exit the other side , but skull aint really thick

i think they need a good bone to go like they can

but a shoulder shot on a deer , real feasible if you dont mind shrapnel in your breast brisket cuts ;)

I havent tried them out in the .223 caliber (yet) and have been using soft points and hollow point on coyotes and groundhogs. At close range, the SP in .223, I'm not at all impressed!
I took a good shot on a yote out at about 200+ with the SP in .223 and it took it down but it got back up and I tracked it, as it should have bleed out!
Splats of sign everywhere on a 200 yard track and never did find it.
(gotta try the V-max in .223 and solve that issue!);)
