    Hello Everyone,

My father gave me a 1892 in .25-20. Said it was used for buffalo shooting from horse back (apparently, you rode up to them, said "nice buffalo", and stuck the gun in it's ear).

    Anyway...

I would say it's in 90% condition (beautiful piece), not a mark on the stock, and very little signs of surface rust, if all all.

The action is tight and crisp.

It has a 20 inch bull barrel, heavy bugger for six, 6 shot tube, and the SN is 934XXX.

So, can I sell it and retire a wealth man from the proceeds?

    Thanks,

    MBD

Without pictures it would be impossible to tell you much. Those guns were available with several options and those options can increase the value into the thousands of dollars. Please post some pictures we would love to see them

Also meaning no disrespect to your Dad, the buffalo were gone from the prairie long before your gun was even made which by your serial number was 1924. The model 92 came out in 1892 and the buffalo were mostly gone, down to just a few hundred by about 1885.

    Ron,

None taken. I alway thought that was a tall tale (if you could take a hint from my post).

I will post some images when I get a chance.

    Thanks again,

    Don
