I have an old springfield 1892 I believe chambered in 30-40 krag. Thinking of reloading for it but wanted to hear what yall think on it. It was my great great grandfathers rifle when he was in law enforcement. I dont know the markings on the rifle but I know there were many changes done to that model over several years.Would it be safe to reload for even if its in almost mint condition.

Long as you keep in mind that it is a hundred years old, and it is not the strongest action out there, and don't try to turn it into a 30/06 (which it ain't), or even worse, into a 300 Win Mag.

    I load for mine.
