Can someone recommend a .357 Magnum factory load that will not over penetrate, which would make a good home defense round?

Any of the factory SD 110 to 125 gr. HP offerings would do the job,Speer,Hornady,Federal,Cor-Bon,Glaser etc.

you need to be aware that there is no guaranteed round that will not penetrate a wall.a lead projectile will even penetrate brick if hit right.if you have too slow a round a hp will not expand.a solid lead round will not open either under low velocity.i do know you can purchase rounds that are lead free and will not over penetrate but i dont think components are available. old semperfi

Over-penetration is a real problem with most .357 loads used indoors.

+1 to Terry P on recommending the .38 +P FBI load. Remington makes a good one. If you must have magnums, then Winchester's 110 grain JHP rounds are not too bad.
