I have some 203gr SP Russian made ammo. On the box it says JSC Barnaul Machine-Tool
    Building Plant.
Has anyone used this ammo and how does it perform on whitetails and pigs?

What kind of bullet does the cartridge have in it? Hollow point or FMJ? If it has a bullet configuration like any other caliber hunting bullet it ought to work.

The rifle was designed to kill men, so a dear hit properly should go down. Consider the 30-30 as it only has 150 to 175 grain flatpoint bullet, but has killed more deer than Carters got pills, well almost.

It has a 203 gr soft point. This is a bit heavier than what I usually use for deer.

Shouldn't have any problem using this ammo for deer or pig hunting than any other type.

It might print differently than regular ball, so check it out first.

x54 ball can range from 147 to like 200 I think...with heavier ones for snipers or target.
Well, I didn't win the Powerball, so I still collect Russian Crap and variants thereof. ( And am darn happy I can!)

The 203 grain 7.62x54R tends to work better in the longer barreled Moisin Nagants such as the M91, M91/30, and the Finnish varients (M28, M30, M39, etc.). When you get down to the shorter barreled M44 or Chinese Type 53, the heavier weight bullets do not tend to be as stable at distance, and I have noticed the pattern widens on target. If you have a shorter barreled varient, it would be best to find a lighter weight hunting load if possible.
