Is there much interest in Broomhandle firearms, especially those with a "9" (red) emblazzened on the stock? Doing research to see if this is something I would like to sale.
There is a lot of collector interest in genuine "Red 9" pistols, especially with the shoulder stock (now declared by BATFE to be a C&R and not subject to the NFA). A good one can bring $4000 or more.
But several years ago, thousands of broomhandle pistols were imported from China. They were originally in 7.63mm, but many were rebored and re-rifled to 9mm P. Some had the receiver drilled out and new barrels installed. Then they were refinished and reblued, and fake "red 9" grips added. Those guns have little value, running around $500 for an average good one. They are basically fun shooters, with little collector interest.
