Had anyone ever used this size bullet 142 gr for a 9mm? A fellow shooter makes them the weigh out at 142 gr and dia is .356. Not 147 gr but 142 gr.

I have only used 115 and 124 gain, have never tried the 147 but I've never heard of 142 grain.

I am sure I have heard of them, but always figured they were too heavy to get good ballistics in the 9mm. I also worried about the heavy bullets putting too much strain on the gun, though that's just a feeling, not backed by experience.

If 124 grain and 147 grain work, not sure why something in between wouldn't work.

Since the larger bullet will be moving slower, I don't think there will be more stress on the gun.

I do know that my 9mm S&W Sigma does not like to feed 147 grain bullets, so 142 grain bullets might be a problem too.

I had no problems with the 147's in my glock 17 (I do have aftermarket spring and guide) seemed very accurate to me.
