Doc, impressive collection sir. My eye is especially drawn to the Wilson. One day I hope add one to my collection as well.

Picked up a S-A Subcompact 1911 45ACP. Anyone played with one of these baby 45s and have a good reload recipe. Do not think 230g full ups will be my cupotea.

Get out to the range and shoot off a couple. I think Springfields are about the nicest ones at the best price. It depends. If you want to spend alot, you can spend a couple thousand dollars on one. But we're talking about like Nighthawks, Colt Gold Cups and like Kimber Customs, etc, etc, that are made for competition shooting. There's a couple other ones that are up there in price and quality. I got a Rock Island 1911 for the price more than anything. $500. It's just like a parkerized G.I. model. Plain-jane, all stripped down. It's all just preference. You can't go wrong with most 1911s. It's kind of just in a class of its own. I have shot Glock, H&K, Walthers, S&W revolvers, have yet to shoot a SIG, but nothing's really like it. It has its advantages and disadvantages. Try er out and see what you like and go from there.

Travis builds some nice 1911's. I owned a Combat Commander he built and the pistol always performed flawlessly.
