i dont have a link for the 1st part posted, but feel it is a VERY IMPORTANT READ!

At the start of February, we were alerted by a few vets that the hard left, anti-American protesters organized around Cindy Sheehan, Jane Fonda, and their ilk planned to demonstrate in Washington on March 17, 2007, starting at the Vietnam War Memorial and marching on the Pentagon. Word spread via e-mail, and then by website.

Last time those barbarians marched not only did they protest, but they also vandalized the Capitol while the Capitol Police did virtually nothing. This time, they would do it to Our Wall. They will dishonor the memory of Our Fallen Brothers before beginning their trek to betray and dishonor Our Serving Sons. Forbid it Almighty God!! Even if no vandalism were to occur, to expropriate The Wall as a backdrop for such a protest would be a desecration. An obscenity. It would be like allowing the KKK to hold a national rally at the Lincoln Memorial – that would never be allowed to happen. And the aging hippies and traitors of the 1960s must not be allowed near The Wall memorializing those they betrayed.

Almost immediately veterans began to organize unofficially. Only a few at first, and not all aware of each other. By February second I learned that our own Zero Ponsdorf was going to go and defend The Wall and I signed on too. I learned that Larry Bailey, another honored friend would be there. By the beginning of last week I had tentative travel plans, and was in contact with another local vet who wanted to travel with me if he could get free. So we were now maybe several dozens. We few, we happy few.

click here for gathering of eagles website!

    from that website...

Folks, we thought that “A Gathering of Eagles” would be a relatively modest undertaking, with maybe a couple thousand patriots gathering with the sole purpose of defending The Wall against the depredations of the America-hating A.N.S.W.E.R. crowd. Our focus was simply to send a message and protect our Wall.
Well, there’s good news! We are now looking at TENS OF THOUSANDS of Americans who will not only be guarding The Wall, but showing Jane Fonda and Cindy Sheehan that they will not control Washington, D.C. on March 17th.

The response to the announcement of our counter-protest has been nothing short of phenomenal. If you don’t believe us, just scroll through the website and look at “State Info” and “Volunteer Info” (under “Sections” on the right side of the homepage) and “Logistics” under “Article Topics,” which is just below “Sections.” In just two short weeks, we’ve had almost 105,000 hits to the website, with an outpouring of volunteers and help from all sides.

move america forward link to their caravan route.

You can also coordinate with others from around the nation about joining the caravan (or forming your own mini-caravan to drive from your area and then join up with our big caravan) or find transportation with others to go directly to DC for the “Gathering of Eagles” event on March 17th (that Move America Forward will be joining) by posting messages at the “Gathering of Eagles” state message boards: http://gatheringofeagles.org/?page_id=6

they are asking that you bring american flags to donate to the caravan.

Join us for the entire caravan, or for just part of the route or attend one of our patriotic pro-troop rallies across the nation. At each stop we're asking participants to bring an American Flag (homemade or store-bought) and we'll pack it up with the caravan and bring it to Washington, D.C. There we will create a giant "Flag City" - a sea of red, white and blue patriotism to surround our war memorials and show we will not turn our backs on our troops as they serve bravely overseas. Have your children make a homemade flag. Knit a flag. Bring a flag that has special meaning or significance to you, because these flags are going to be given to the finest Americans: our troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

After the D.C. rally we'll send each flag that was displayed to a unit serving in Iraq or Afghanistan with a placard explaining where the flag flew and why.
