I've bought severl Mausers of varying grades from Mitchells over the years and other than one small importation stamp on the barrel, the overl grade of the rifles IMO have been very good, to me meaning excellent. A few of them I have purchesed did need a thoruough cleaning though, to include inside the bolt to get the (inseet brain fart here) packing grease out.

I'd have to agree with "Popgunner". Mitchell's prices are way too high for an M48. I can understand paying a hefty price for a Kar 98k, since they seem to be getting scare. But M48's are not nearly as scarce. Look around at local shops for one. Don't pay more than $175 for one, unless it's, like, brand-new. That's my two-cents, and, yes, I have an M48 - an M48A to be exact. Shoots like a charm. Love it.
