Need some info on my 1911 cal .45acp , I have seached but no luck so far .The slide is marked American Classic , frame has the importer ATI , Rochester N Y also on frame its marked ,Imperial Defense Services Ltd.England . The pistol is all steel, blue finish, quality of finish is nice for shooter in no safe queen . I am more than happy with its performance just looking for the negatives about the gun ? Phoned ATI they were no help said only a few were imported years ago.
The AmerClassic and then AmerClassic 2 are probably still made by the same company ( IDC ) and then imported by Import Sports. I'm not certain of this, but a phone call to the companies should give you the info you're seeking.
American Classic have nothing in common with Bersa The new American classic are made in Philippines by Metro Arms
These are very well made pistols I have number serial #78 American Classic It was presented to me by the Importer .
The only thing they share is the same importer Eagle in NJ and the same warranty centers. I own http://bersachat.com and have a close working relationship with Eagle. The new Commander American Classic in blue or hard chrome are arriving at present time. Also other new models
Once again they are not made by Bersa and have nothing to do with Bersa Some on line Dealers still haven't figured that out and list as a Bersa 1911 . I suggest if they can't ID the pistol correct It would be of concern to me as to spending my money with them.

Thank you for the informative update. I have seen it listed with Bersa which is why I laid out the possibility. Again, thank you for your correction and update.
The American Classic that I have is Imperial Defense Services Ltd. England it has no connection with the American Classic II , from the Phiilipines the web site does not have info on it current modes are called Rangers and what I am looking for is some personal experience with this model good or bad.
