So??? Who is going to fine China??

Ooops I forgot that they are our favorite trade partner. Not to mention that almost nothing in this country did not come on a boat from there.

I don't know for sure but maybe thats the reason my bear/cat dogs kept trying to tree the wife when she wore that damn coat  . I decided it was the dogs/me/ or the coat. Dang I hope they miss me!!! Figure I will be able to get back in after the thaw (Inside the house that is). Dang dog house ain't insulated either.:D catfish

    Seward,
You might want to reconsider. You have to send your furs to the auction in Canada. This is what the fur buyers do. Bypass them and the prices are good. 2 weeks ago the top lot of coon hides at the NAFA auction sold for $90 a piece, there were 60 furs in the lot- lots of happy trappers there! This was the exception and they were all 4x or 5x super select northern clear. Beaver are bringing even better money than coon. We had a couple ratty small beaver that brought $22 and $26. Getting ready to start trapping spring beaver.

We averaged $21 for our coon which was about what the others did. Anywhere from $30 to $15. Market will probably crash though with so many trappers getting back into it with the higher fur prices.

If you are interested I can email you a copy of the auction figures. I don't know if a link will work I think you have to be a NAFA member to view them.

I can make good money when coons are averaging $20. They are doing that right now. The $90 high price was not a type. I will try to post the report.
During the 80s our averages were in the $30-$32 range.

    Seward,
It is for real. Our fur check should be here next week:)
Here it is. I made a mistake the top lot of coon brought $92.00 a piece.

We had coon in the highlighted lot which brought $32 a piece. There were about 350,000 coon sold.

Here is a pdf with an auction summary. It looks like the high price of the whole hide auction was a lynx cat at $900. $280 top coyote, $210 top beaver.

The attachment is a shot of the lots selling. It shows the $92 lot and a $32 lot which we had coon in.
