We've had this discussion before, but there have been great advancements in materials over the last few years. The pocket-sized .380s are all the rage in magazines and gun shops, but have we who carry actually adopted them?

So what do you carry? Pistol or revolver? Metal frame or polymer? What cartridge?

It's certainly not going to be scientific, but maybe we'll be able to see some trends here.

Sometimes it is a pockt pistol in .45, the AMT Backup. Othertimes, it is either a full size 1911 in a Fobus paddle holster or a Glock 21 in a paddle holster. Occasionally in colder weather, I'll wear "The Boys" ( a matched set of stainless 1911's ) in a double shoulder holster I had made for me. A jacket covers them nicely.

Commander sized 1911 in nothing else but .45 ACP, year round.

The arrogance of this post further illustrates your suppressed disappointment of inadequacy.

You can come out of the myopic closet any time. Were understanding.

Jk dude. Couldn't resist after the Army thread debacle.

Depends on the season. In hot weather, a Sig sub-compact in 9mm in an IWB holster. In cooler weather, when a jacket or more is required, a Colt Officers model in a cross draw shoulder holster. Would prefer to carry the Colt year round, but concealment becomes a problem in summer.

I usually carry a 1911A1 year round. I like the Hornady XTP JHP in 230 gr., or the Cor-bon .230gr. JHP as my personal defense round. I am also known to carry a .44 special, or a .357. Or I might be wearing a Taurus PT 58 HC Plus, it's only a .380, but the magazine holds 20 rounds. I also carry a BUG, usually an Off Duty .38, but have been known to carry an LCP. My NAA in .22 mag is simply a part of me, it goes everywhere I go. Not to mention a good knife.
