Another WW-2 knife project pictorial. Not as detail this time as many operation are same as on other. I actually started this one last fall. But got side tracked. Out from work on Med leave now so got bored and decided to finish it. This time the project is a WW-2 PAL-36 knife. A U.S. Army contract.
I decided not to go for a restoration so much. But to make it into more of a traditional hunting knife. So I reshaped the blade just a little. Putting a bit more of a swept drop point on it with a false top edge. Much like on the USMC Ka Bar. And to use a different guard. One similar to that on a Cattaruagus 225Q, but thicker. Here's what I started with after last years blade work. (Bottom blade)
