Anyone who has visited the NRA site has seen this list. I was going to join the AARP because I turned 50 this year and they are pro-Social Security. It's too late for me to start on some other gov't sanctioned retirement program and I'd like SS to stick around a while. After seeing them on this list, I'm not so sure.

    National Organizations With Anti-Gun Policies

The following organizations have lent monetary, grassroots or some other type of direct support to anti-gun organizations. In many instances, these organizations lent their name in support of specific campaigns to pass anti-gun legislation such as the March 1995 HCI "Campaign to Protect Sane Gun Laws." Many of these organizations were listed as "Campaign Partners," for having pledged to fight any efforts to repeal the Brady Act and the Clinton "assault weapons" ban. All have officially endorsed anti-gun positions.

United Seniors Association is a good alternative to AARP. Marlin has been a member for years, and I plan to join when I'm old enough. ;)

Thanks SoMo..I saw Art Linkletter interviewed and promoting this organization a few months back. They are for the revamping of SS..and so am I. I just don't like a cut off point of 55-60 yrs. old like that outfit promotes, that, to me, is a little late in the game to start a new retirement program.
