I recently came into possession of an H&R 22 Hunter Model serial number 149307 target pistol. given to me by a friend. It is a 9 shot revolver long barrel about 12 inches long and is solid. I think it is bronzed not blued or nickel plated. I would like to know the year it was made and approx. worth.

the Hunter model 10inch barrel is a variation of the early model 922. i can't give you an exact date of manufacture because there are no known factory serial number records for this model. my best guess as to the age of this one would be 1929 or 1930 because of the lack of the marking model 933.

HUNTER LARGE SOLID FRAME DOUBLE ACTION 22 RIMFIRE REVOLVER -------1929-1939
9 shot cylinder capacity (built on the M922 frame), pull pin cylinder release, blue finish only, 10 inch octagon barrel only, two piece oversize walnut grips, marked on top strap “H&R HUNTER” of just “HUNTER”
After 1930 catalogs listed as; MODEL 933 DOUBLE ACTION
    VALUE: 100%=$565 60%=$230

Nickle, under certain conditions will turn a " bronze" like color. I really have my doubts abut it being bronzed, If so, it was done after it left the factory.
