The one I handled was much heavier than it looked. My friend dry fired it and thought the trigger pull was terrible, but I did not try it myself as the weight was enough to turn me off.
Heavy?? Depending on the type, it weighs from 6.5 to 8 pounds...
thats lighter than the average M16 w/20rd mag.
Trigger, as always, can be improved on the average battle rifle
Now, if you happen to be a slightly twisted little bunny,
one can get an airsoft TAVOR stock & install a Marlin 795 inside...

I've done a bit of research into the .22lr clones that have been coming out lately an here's the short of what I've found.
ATI GSG-5 (MP5); Good guns, well made, trigger is a matter of opinion/personal preference, tons of upgrades (some mp5 compatible), magazine capacities 10rd-110rd drum (highest in its class), they hold up very well, and are known to not be soo picky about ammo but have their temperaments much like many other guns.
Beretta ARX-160 (ARX-100); Highly rated and recommended, one of the top "clones" to come out thus far, magazine capacities 10rd-30rd, very sturdy and close to the original rifles design, however not many upgrades are available for this one.
ISSC MK-22 (SCAR); These fell very low on the list, they look great but are currently known to be quite problematic mostly involving failure to feed. This is due to 2 mounting screws stripping the threading from or warping the holes they go into on the frame. Common thought is the frame is made of a "cheaper" metal and isnt up to the task there for it warps or simply allows the screws to strip it. Also many have had their lock that holds their folding stock open break from the open position, seems its made mostly of plastic and isnt all that strong. 10rd-22rg magazine capacity. damn shame cause I wanted one.
S&W Kick Brass (AR-15); Yea I looked at them all, this one is highly rated/very well known, made by a good company, tons of up grades cause it AR compatible, and they are known to eat almost any ammo you feed them. Magazines are plentiful for this plinker.

I would have bet money that I made a comment in this thread right after you mentioned the ARX-100. I thought I mentioned that I would like the Beretta RX-4 Storm. Must be losing my mind!!
Speaking of .223/5.56 rifles, I was over at my LGS yesterday and was looking at one of the Kel-Tec SU-16 rifles. While it was ugly, I kind of liked it. I bet I played with the thing for 15 minutes and I think I would have bought it if it hadn't been $629.
I have an issue with kel tec. When I had my shop open, I had 15 orders for the PMR-30 and could have sold more. I emailed them several times and placed an order for 20 of them. They promised they would deliver in a certain time period. They eventually stopped replying to my emails and I never heard from them again.
The whole PMR30/RMR30 thing really went downhill fast...
great pistol, but you can't get 'em...vaporware...
Keltec screwed up bigtime somewhere along the way...
Heck, I've been on the PMR waiting list at my LGS for over five years...
still nothing...
You can buy them online all day long.....if your willing to pay 4 times what they are worth. The dealer cost on them is $277.00. People are jacking the price bigtime. I wouldnt buy one now if they were readily available.
