I have two handmade Italian folders. One has no point in fact the tip of the blade is radiused or scalloped. On this blade are the words "PERMESSO DALLA LEGGE
    REGOL.P./S.N. 62/81"
It has polished composite tortoise stocks and brass hardware. Also, on the blade is the name of the maker R.PETRUNTI and under that is FROSOLONE under that INOX which I know is Italian for stainless. The blade is about 3.5"
The other folder is a real beauty! It has a point, is flat ground as is the other. It too is made by R. PETRUNTI. The stocks are listed as Manico Corno Di Cervo or Deer Horn. This knife too has brass pins and is finished nicely. Has anyone heard of R. PETRUNTI of Frosolone? Is he still in business? His work is excellent. Any leads are greatly appreciated.

    Donny Henry,
My grandfather and his father...etc were knifemakers in Italy. Knifes are
still family made in Italy and Canada.
Its possible the knives were made by grandfather or his father. Is it
possibel to email a picture of the knives showing the family name?

    Thanks

    Donnie,
I know I posted this almost a year ago, but I found the knifemaker in Italy! He is listed on the link I'll post at the end. I found some info, Rocco is the son of "Mingo" Domenico Petrunti a rather renouned knifemake in his own. They are the son and grandson of Rocco Petrunti who ran a knifemaking business in Frosolone Italy for decades. He sold most of his wares under other buyers/sellers names. I also found that Rocco has family in Canada and the US, notably Toronto and Winchester, CT, USA. Again the work they do is superb. I feel very proud to have 3 of his knives.

I changed my user name by the way.

Sounds as though the guy I e-mailed back and forth with may indeed be family then...You may want to drop him a line sometime.
