    Does anyone make a AR15 upper that is chambered in .223/5.56 but is a bolt action upper?

    I have seen a pic of something like that, but I cannot find someone that sells that item.

    I know the British remove the gas system to produce a straight pull AR15.

    If you had your location listed and it was a state like mine (PA) that doesn't allow semi rifles for hunting I would understand what you are wanting.

    I'll assume that you own a AR now since you are asking about just the upper.

    If you want to make it bolt action you really don't need to buy a complete upper, just the upper receiver, bolt carrier and possibly a different gas block or a way to block off the gas to the receiver.

    White Oak Armament makes a upper with bolt handle that should work for you.

    It looks like this;

    You will have to remove the gas tube if you are wanting hunt in a no semi rifle state like me so that it can't be made to shoot semi. Block off the front sight base or gas block where the gas tube was and you are good to go.

    If I knew more about your AR and exactly what you are up to here I could advise you more.

    Cool idea, but not what I expected.
