Pops or anyone that knows! In this book "Unintended Consequences" (which I just started reading)...is the story of the WW1 vets camping out in washington , and then being attacked by the U.S. Army true?...

If so, I've been in my shell too long...

Yes, it's true. McArthur, Patton and Eisenhower were all involved. Author did much research and was very careful with his historical facts.

I got it in school before high school, but that was during the early days of the Korean "Conflict."

I got it in Prep School in 7th, 8th and during the high school years.

My children have never heard anything about it so it's not on the docket in either public or private schools now. The older kids went to public school until 7th grade, and younger started in private and all had private from 7th on. Montomgery's public schools were the pits back in the seventies.

I understand the're a hundred times worse now with all the PC mentality. My two older kids never heard of Armistice day until alaflyguy got into ROTC and the Army!

I'm 41. I read about it in school. I went to K-10 in Houston and 11-12 in Atlanta (DeKalb County).

Yes, we were told that McArthur was ordered to lead it.

Betcha Bradley wouldn't have done it.
