At the bottom

    The following is info I recall being passed around during my tenure at the stockade. Military personnel with the prefix numbers "55" were considered on the low end of the learning curve. Most that I dealt with had the serial number that started with US 55- - - - - -, which indicated that they were drafted and at the bottom. I don't recall anything in re to RA's.

    If you enlisted you got a RA prefix, IIRC If you were drafted then enlisted you had a new S/N prefix of RA(regular army) but retained the 54xxxxx
