The ridiculous "football culture" that wastes time and lives is FAR more detrimental to society than any "gun culture." The worship of sports is far more harmful to society than the occasional liberal sports desk moron misunderstanding his God given rights.

"God given rights?" I'm sure the Founding Fathers are quite flattered. The reason the football game went on as scheduled is because of one thing--MONEY. Cancel the game and the focus is magnified 10 fold, millions of dollars are lost, and the coverage and its impact on the season are headlines for the remainder of the season. The first couple news clips I saw framed this incident as an unfortunate act by a world class athlete who snapped--he was the victim--there was no mention of his wife's name or her loss. Somehow football players rise above that tenant I read somewhere about "all men being equal"--now where DID I read that...?

A letter of fact and truth to:
Bob Costas, All liberal news organizations, All Liberals, All Democrats, All anti-gun whackos, All haters of firearms, All peace love dopers, and anyone that even in the most remote way thinks/believes that gun laws prevent gun killings.

Fact: As of today, scattered all across these United States there are roughly 1700 small to large towns where the following laws are in place, legal, and strictly enforced by the government.

No firearms of any kind, age, shape, style, or mechanism are owned or possessed by their citizens. None. This includes all ammunition.

No bows, crossbows, longbows, compound bows, recurve bows, arrows, or broadheads of any kind, age shape, style, or mechanism are owned or possessed by their citizens. None.

No swords, spears, lances, knives, axes, hatchets, pointed or blade type arms of any kind, age, shape style, or mechanism are owned or possessed by their citizens. None.

Also in an effort to ensure the absolute safety of their citizens from the crime of homicide the following items are also not owned or possessed by the citizens: Tools of any kind at all. All sporting equipment. All office equipment and supplies. “ANY and ALL” household items including most clothing.

In the event that you have not yet figured it out, all of the towns that abide by these laws are named the same. They are named “Prison”.

Truth: As “Proven” in the above towns, regardless of how much a human beings liberties or freedoms are restricted or controlled by the laws of a government or by the force of a government, the human beast “will” always find a way to commit the heinous act of homicide as they do in the above listed towns. The implement used to perform the heinous deed is “NOT” the guilty party. If that were the case then water should be illegal because it drowns people. That train of thought is JUST NOT LOGICAL and LACKS COMMON SENSE because if you apply that train of thought to a homicide where a gun was used then the punishment for the crime would be that the gun goes to jail for life or gets executed.

Have we become that ignorant as a country?

More gun laws or the banning of guns will matter not.

The founding fathers enumerated God-given rights into the Bill of Rights. At first, they thought that such a list was unnecessary because it was self-evident that people have freedom of speech, religion, assembly, self-defense, and freedom from most government interference in their lives as a natural result of being created in the image of God. That whole "endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights" thing from the Declaration of Independence explains it.
