I haven't mess with my smoke poles in awhile. I have 3 traditional percussion cap 45cal rifles. My question is what powders and projectiles are ya'll using and why.

I use FFFG black powder 40 to 60 grains depending on what I am shooting at. .445 round ball and 0.15-0.18 ticking with home made moose milk for lube and caps I use CCI #11.
I like how black powder shoots and cleans and the rest is what my gun seems to be the most accurate with.

I use either GOEX or 777 in fffg. As far as the projectiles go, I use Hornady .44 cal roundballs. The actual diameter is either .451 or .454. I have 4 1848 Remingtons and a flintlock Kentucky Rifle and they all shoot the .44 round ball. I do have an original .35 cal cap and ball rifle that I use the same powder and the same ball in .35 cal. :)
