Ball ammo aka Military Hardball aka FMJ. Same ammo, different names.

    LOL, seriously?

You're already on all the lists. It doesn't matter, really.

Unless you go completely off the grid, just posting on an internet forum exposes you. Google is the least of your worries.

Ball ammo is ammunition that doesn't do anything other than shoot and poke a basic hole in the target - whatever it may be. Ball ammo is NOT armor piercing, tracer, incendiary, blank, line throwing, explosive or proof test ammo. When the .45-70 Springfield rifle was the standard issue long gun, 'ball' ammo was a cast lead projectile. "Ball" ammo does not have to be jacketed; however, most modern combat weapons use full metal jacketed ammo, so most current ball ammo is FMJ.

The Marine Corps (and other services, but I never looked in their manuals) used to list (and probably still does) "Ammunition, ball, caliber .22 long rifle, match target" for the pistol and rifle teams. It isn't used for combat, but the projectile doesn't 'do' anything special.

It dates from the days when ammo was a hand full of lead balls and a container of (black) powder.
