A friend made a box from wood that was attached to the headboard. You would never know it was there.

That's not what my wife says... Just saying.:D And oh ya, when the mattress moves too much the handle bars fall off the head board and then things really start going south because we begin sliding off the plastic sheets. But my wife is a patient individual.

    Yeah upstairs is no problem.

I have a bed downstairs in a big room and the nightstand isn't on my right side plus there's a big glass sliding door leading out to my deck and around the corner is the door to the garage. (a layout thing)

Well I really like the idea of having my gun right there PLUS it would always be right there.

......oh, wife doesn't get one. Hey when she's alone she's got her mag upstairs.

I use one that goes pretty far into the mattress so no chance of it falling out. I like it. I don't leave it there all the time though. My nightly routine is put my carry gun in the safe and out comes the .45 which gets put into the bedside holster. Every morning the .45 goes back in the safe and my carry weapon goes in my pocket. I don't have kids though. I wouldn't use one if I did.

Yeah I've seen pics of those that go farther under the mattress.

If I put a gun in one it would probably stay there as a quick grab gun. You never want a bad guy to get between you and your gun, this would be really centrally located for me on the first floor.
