Sounds like too much work just for .223 cases. If it was some obscure caliber/cartridge, maybe. Just to get usable cases for a .223 I'd have to say HELLNO. Go to ********* or some other web site and that has sales/auctions for .223 brass and you'll see that it's not very expensive in comparison to the ammount of work and trouble you will get into. There is a small hook tool that (can't think of who makes it now) is used to remove Berdan primers, and another one that uses a Boxer primer to push theBerdan primer out. With both you have the added expense of the required tooling , with one of them add the cost of a Boxer primer to the equation as well. I'd sell it for scrap and move on.

those who beat their guns into plowshares, will plow for those that didn't

    Wont work

Because the anvil is built into the case for berdan primers. Boxer primers have the anvil in them. So all that work and it still will be useless brass.

223 brass is cheap as hell as well.

Too much work for quite possibly the third most plentiful brass casings in the world.

If 223 is the third most plentiful what is first and second?
