I am interested in readers' favorite loads for Berry's plated 158 gr 38/357mag HP bullets using Unique powder, cci or win primers. 1000 of these bullets just arrived at my door yesterday. I am interested in .38 special midrange to +P loads to shoot in a variety of S&W and Ruger pistols. Pet .357magnum loads would also be appreciated. I have been reloading rifle, shotgun and pistols for 35+/-years but have never used Berrys bullets but have used other plated bullets as well as LSWC and FMJ.

Midrange, 4.0. +P, 5.0. Or, as I mark my boxes, wussy and social.

Plated bullets may not be the best idea for +P loads.

By skid do you mean lead up? The only stupid question is the one I do not ask!

158 grain +P in 38 special is not going to go over 1100 fps, so I don't see the problem.

Alpo may be right on this one, it is only a .38 spec. But berrys are merely plated lead cores, and the lead cores are dead soft. if you get them fast enough the plating strips off they will lead up the bore just like a cast lead bullet would.
