I have a British 303 that I would like to know what it's worth. Reciever #4MkI* (line under the k) Grip band 15C718X over 5 over 194Z over a circle with a crown on top over ENGLAND Bolt OC1901U (U may be someting else kind of hard to read) Reciever ring BNP (p also hard to read) round bolt striker head, screwed on cheek piece. Bottom of stock S51. Wood is kind of dinged up metal has no rust and finish is intact. Could this have been a sniper rifle? Thanks rugerman

That's 1942. Is there a 'T' stamped on the left receiver wall? Tangent rear sight? Scope pads?

There is a tangent rear sight and a place on the left forward part of the reciever behind the reciever ring that has a threaded hole that could be used for attaching a scope as well as a plate with 2 screws and another hole that is also threaded (plate is smooth hole in left side of the reciever , hole is in the middle of the plate and just below the rear sight when it is folded down) behind the ears (?) for a stripper clip I assume. On the outside left of the reciever behind the front scope pad (square plate with 3 screws and a threaded ring on the top that is just above the reciever wall) there are the letters TY. Thanks rugerman

Your No.4 Mark 1* was made by Savage-Stevens in Chicopee Falls, MA (as Doc says) in 1942.

If it doesn't have the (T), the value is:

    Exc. - $300
    V.G. - $200
    Good - $100

If it does have the (T) mark, but not the original scope, it might be worth a bit more, but without the scope, not very much.

Prices are from the Standard Catalog of Military Firearms, 2nd Edition.
