    4 squirrels, cut into pieces
    Water to cover
    2 bay leaves
    Seasoned flour (salt & pepper)
    4 tablespoons butter
    1 cup stewing liquid
    1 cup dry red wine
    1 beef bouillon cube
    pinch of chili powder
    1 cup whole mushrooms

    Place squirrel pieces in large pot with water and bay leaves. Simmer until all pieces are done. (young squirrels will tenderize quicker than old ones.) Remove ane pieces of meat that are tender and reserve until all are done. Drain meat on paper toweling and save 1 cup of stewing liquid. Roll squirrel in seasoned flour. Brown in butter in heavy skillet. Add rest of ingredients, cover and simmer for 30 minutes. SERVES: 4
