Can anyone identify this bayonet?

    My grandfather gave me this bayonet. It has a few serial numbers on the bayonet itself and the scabbard.

    also I uploaded two of the same images sorry. But the other was of the scabbard which has a ball tip end.

    It is indeed the standard Mauser bayonet but K98 refers to the rifle rather than the bayonet...
    Your bayonet is either the M84/98 Type II or Type III- I can't tell from your pics.
    If you could send some close-ups of both sides of the ricasso (blade next to the grip) and the scabbard markings we can narrow down the ID, eh?
    Where are you in Michigan? Got family there....

    If the Numbers on the Bayonet and the numbers on the Sheath match each other, the value of the Bayonet will be increased considerably! Good Luck,Butch
