I just stumbled onto my my mosin nagant m44 at the local gun store. got it for around $100. ever since then i've been sure that there is a handgun out there that comes with a similar deal. i've seen some in the past but there doesn't seem to be the same abundance as with the nagants.
Dong's is where i got my nagant. that's the only cheap thing i've ever seen there. they don't like to do that, or be friendly to people for the most part.

Yup. They are pricey on alot of stuff....but they offtimes have things i cant find at other places.
Rude... heck yes!
Yet a still shop there from time to time.... lol
Medlocks had some kind of new cheap pistol that came in 9,40, and 45 a while back. I cannot remember the brand name but they were in the lower $300 range new.
Don't know that site, but in general Tokarevs look like a really nice handgun for the $$$, and I like my little FEG .32 for a plinker, though I have great trepidations as far as trusting it with my life against a determined attacker.
Makarovs seem pretty good as a bang for the buck cheap pistol too.
You should check out the Tokarev TT-33. Fires the potent 7.62 x 25 Tokarev round. Many Eastern Block countries produced these pistols. Romanian or Polish versions can be had for about $220. Mil Surp (corrosive) ammo is ~ 10 cents per round.

There are a good many Tokarevs, Makarovs, Nagant Pistols and CZ-52s out there for pretty reasonable prices. And as DTulsa mentioned, the Hi Points. I've had a C9 for some time now and it's a pretty good weapon. It shoots every time you pull the trigger. After all that's what you really want. Some people say the Hi Points are cheap. I say they are not cheap but inexpensive.
the tokarev m57 gets my vote. excellent gun for the money. controls including safety located the same as a 1911. slightly longer grip and holds one more round than a standard tokarev. and check out the ballistics of the 7.62x25

the tokarev round will defeat a vest and for all it's blast it's easy to control . the ammo is dirt cheap and the gun/caliber is a hoot.... my next surplus gun is going to be a cz52. saw a youtube video of some guy blasting holes in a car brake caliper. very impressive
I had a 52. Stupidly I sold it. Very accurate. Loud as hell. In the indoor range it was like a white elephant. After you pulled that trigger it was quiet b/c everyone else what looking around thinking "what the hell was that!"
cz52 is by far my favorite surplus piece. You can still get surplus ammo cheap. Tremendous bang for the buck. I am looking for a Tokarev since I have thousands of rounds of 7.62x25 now.
It is just about as cheap to buy the Russian Nagant Pistol as it is to buy the ammo for it! You can buy another cylinder that allows you to shoot .32 auto through it.
Tok ammunition is a fine bargain right now, $8 for a 72 round box. Corrosive, but don't let that scare you.
