I just bought a Colt 1911 for $500.00($450.00 + tax + holster from original owner). I think the pistol is about 40%. It has no stampings on the left side of the slide, worn down. The right side and the serial # are reading. I bought it to shoot and because it's a Colt mfgd in 1918. I like it. Any info or comments are greatly appreciated.

Photo's make it a lot easier to assess your pistol. As clear as possible pictures of both sides of the pistol along with all markings and numbers.

And they enable our guys to evaluate the % of wear on the pistol.

Thank you for coming to The Firearms Forum.
