Colt Python

    Just picked up a beautiful, early 1965 Python. It has been fired, has
    minor cylinder drag lines and some holster wear on the left side of barrel.
    It was in an old hand made holster and it was obvious the gun was carried in that perticular holster for a long time. I have two questions, one of course
    is an approximate value and the other is about the gold in the lettering, is
    that factory or has it been added.

    the prices are all over the map on these, but collectors are going wild and paying well over book value. for the gun you've pictured the price would be between 750 and 1100 depending on the true condition ( hard to tell by a picture)

    Yes. I would estimate $1000 on that revolver. The gold fill in the lettering is not factory, but it does not seriously detract from the revolver.
