I don't own a Glock, or any other striker fired hand gun.

In California it's illegal to have a loaded gun in the car.

In California it's illegal to have a gun in the car without it being secured in a locked container.

In California it's illegal to leave guns where children can get to them.

In most states, when you break the law, you are no longer the victim.

He broke at least three California laws. How can he sue anybody? Why isn't he in jail?

  5. You also forgot the one where his kid was not properly secured in the car seat, which enabled him to reach the firearm.

But he's a cop, so he thinks he exempt from those laws.

I thought about the car seat, but I don't think that's required unless you are actually driving the car. He could have been somewhere, arrived home, unlatched the kid, and then bent down to tie his shoe. Could be several reasons why a kid in a car was not belted in.

But, yeah, cops don't have to obey they law. They are the law.

Leastways, that's what a lot of 'em think.

Another reason to start issuing revolvers again: the long 14# trigger pull of a standard issue DA revolver could not be pulled by any 3 year old who is not on steroids.

Another example of someone not taking responsability for their own actions.
It's so much easier to blame someone else.

"the off-duty officer forgot that he had left the loaded .45-caliber pistol under the front seat of this Ford Ranger. The child was not in a safety seat at the time."

but it's the gun's fault! geeeez

maybe he should also sue Ford for providing an area under the seat to put the gun.
