in a motorhome where ever we park!
for those of us who shoot .22 short ammo, have you noticed that it cost as much as .22lr? or at most just a few cents less? you would think that it would cost at least a third less than the LR! shorter shell (less brass), less powder, and usually less grams on the actual bullet.

anyone got a better price, checked Wal-mart,Kmart,Cabelas, sportsmans whse, sports authority, true value, western auto and many of the online vendors.

This is just a guess, but because of the lower manufacturing volume, it actually costs more to make even though the price of the material per round is less.

For sure a volume deal. The cos only make it couple times/yr and they dont care give it away.

Look at Centerfire bullets. 55 gr are less than 165s but not 1/3 the cost by a long shot-and never will be.
