Can you guys help me with the dates on these two 38 specials?

Both Smith & Wesson. I believe them to be mid to late 1970's

    1st one, Model 10-6 Ser# 2D43XXX

And a little help here......The butt of the frame has the "2D43XX" but under the grip, and inside the cylinder frame has a 5 digit 33XXX. So, which is actually the serial number??

    2nd one, Model 15-4 Ser# 30K3XXX

#1 is 4" barrel, #2 is a snubby. Both belong to family member, original owner, just wanting to record the info for family history, general knowledge etc.

    Thanks for any info.

SNs 2D00001 through 2D80000 number were made in 1977. That's the real SN - that 33000 number inside the crane is an assembly number. SNs 25K00001 through 56K99999 were made in 1978/79. With it being 30K, I'd guess '78.
