Roll of carpet, a new preframed front door....a preframed interior door......some lumber for an addition "bathroom".....and some panelling to bring my place up to par with what i would consider being liveable.......

Whats the point of having a SA 1911 or anything else brand new if I've got a 1" gap under my front door and no bathroom to use at 3am......
Yep, thats right.....I've been using the great outdoors for 5 years now.......not even an outhouse!

Only in Arkansas would someone have a shack in a quarry with satellite, a widescreen tv, a computer, nice stereo......and a kitchen with a full size refrigerator and stove, without running water........but no bathroom...

    So....for all of you 1911 pureists......I chose a toilet over a
    SA 1911.......haha

    That oughta get your goats......

I suppose the joke is on me......but I'm too stupid to realize it.......

Its amazing though, how much a couple kettles of boiling water off the stove can make a difference in a bath of cold water...I've been there Mike, spent an entire winter with no heat of any sort once...Thank God I was in Texas.
Been through some difficult times, but I wouldn't trade 'em for a shiney new 1911, those times make me appreciate what I have now, those times cultivated a mindset that I'll never get away from, no matter how much is going "my way"...I'll take a Savage when my friends are buying Sakos, I'll handload instead of blowing half a weeks pay on ammo...Those times have saved me more than they cost me...I sure as heck dont wanna go back, but the lessons learned will be invaluable to me for the rest of my life.

I would make a low yield boiler to heat my bath water, fueled by propane gas if necessary...using those little barbecue gas bottles.

Get a potty forsure over the 1911, creature comforts are priority status.

Stop using the quary for potty sessions, don't wanna spread dysentery.

Then kick back and enjoy the good life.

Start saving for that 1911...you could get a new handle...1911nut.

I bet you got a neat place to shoot in the quary.

    Here at TFF
Glocknut, as much as I like 1911's, you made a wise choice.

    The 1911 will come later.

The folks only live a mile away, so its not like I don't take showers or anything........

The fact that they are so close is part of the reason I've taken so long to make a bathroom.....well that and the fact that burrowing an 8'x16' hole 6' deep in solid rock takes a little bit of time.....thank God for hydraulic wedge splitters...........
I'm going to put a 425 gallon water tank, a grey water holding tank, and a holding tank for the more "solid" wastewater directly into the quarry floor...

    Gunguy....
I don't use the quarry.....i go to the treeline on the downhill side of the quarry where it'll drain away.....

Shooting range? Ricochet (sp)? is a major concern...
I like using the woods in the undeveloped part the best...

I've started work on my shooters shed.....i decided to make it out of stone blocks and bury it into the side of a rubble pile at the edge of the quarry.....
Its a 100 yard from there to the edge of the property, where I'll put a dirt pile.....
