this vidio shows that many of us, fail to properly prepare ourselves to defend ourselves..much less those around us.....and it points out the solution...train..train and more training!

I do understand this is stacked in favor of the BG..and there are many things not addressed in the "classes" but it is just a point to consiter..

"sometimes the best thing to do is to hide, play dead"

uhhh... no dude, unless you're unarmed maybe...

although I agree with much of the video, they only take into account one scenario. Had that room been bigger or arranged differently or more people, etc... results can quickly turn in your favor. If I'm sitting in a classroom and I hear gunshots next door, you can bet my gun will be waiting for you to enter that door.

Good video though, train as you fight, fight as you train. We're not all Rambo!

I really hope that every member of this forum watches this video! I rarely shoot targets at home, where I shoot, but practice drawing, and firing while moving. I also am active in training taught by a local range. If you can not train at a range get some SD training videos, and watch them, then practice what you have learned from them.

I have trained my whole life and anyone who is serious about ccw should never stop training.I feel you need to do some soul searching also. This isnt a video game but real world where seconds count.I feel you need to look at yourself and see if you could actually kill a man up close and personal without hesitation.Hesitation will cost someone thier life.A handgun isnt a majic talisman to ward off evil but a emergency tool and nothing more.Your most powerful weapon is your brain. In a deadly force situation you need to harness the power of your inner primal instincts and attack with a brutal viscousness with the goal of seeing him dead.I feel anyone serious should also learn hand to hand combat learning knife skills and improvised weapons.Almost anything can be used from a lowly cheap ink pen to a hot cup of coffee.I see too much reliance on a handgun. The first thing is come out of lalaland and and be aware of your surroundings.Situational awareness is the best first line of defense. But even the best operators can be caught off gaurd.Look at how we as humans loose our awareness by using a cell phone. We walk around with our eyes glued to the little screen. The world is a dangerous place and enemies are everywhere looking for prey. You need to show you are not prey but an equally dangerous predator and one not to be attacked. This can be done simply by being aware.I know not everyone agrees with my views and it is cool with me.I have been blessed with training from some really dangerous men and sat at the feet of true warriors and soaked in all I could.I have seen the brutality humans can do to each other and have learned some hard lessons in life.Make no mistake. The world is full of evil and I pray God guides me and leads me on a righteous path but God also needs warriors to fight the good fight. And I pray He uses my skills for His glory

Naturally the media is going to report negative. First off, in those class room situations, the gunman comes in to the classroom and he automatically goes to the guy with the gun because its a training exercise and he knows who has the gun. But, in a situation where the gunman comes in and people are scattering, he would likely shoot whoever is closest to him and whoever poses the biggest threat at the moment. The guy with the gun would likely have a better opportunity to respond. Also, I didnt see anyone of those people that I would call trained shooters. Just my two cents. Typical media negativity against concealed carry.

couldn't agree more Skullfr; BG's (anyone really) can sense whether you are serious or not, that's why a lot of folks get disarmed or worse. When you are threatened, you must turn into the most aggressive primal animal. Violence of action and the will to destroy a human life.

I know quite a few folks who carry off and on with little or no training; I will have to turn them onto this video as food for thought.

I do like that the PD and ABC teamed up and actually did a 'study', there should be more stuff like this to educate folks to seek training.

Sorry, I dont consider anything ABC does to be education when it comes to firearms. They are pure and simple anti-gun and they would never do a report that favored the concealed carry citizen.

DD, I feel the same way about this video as you do. They have set up a no win situation with folks that are not properly trained, and not well trained enough. Trainging can become expensive! One way to help keep the price down is to use the lowly .22. You can buy them in almost any configuration. I have a Colt Woodsman that is almost exactly like my .45, and I have revolvers that not unlike some of the ones I carry sometimes. Cheap to practice with no matter how much time you put into it!

I know, I got a bit pissed at the 'you shouldn't carry a gun, see' but at the same time it does point out a big shortcoming that I think is probably accurate for a lot of folks who don't even realize it.

That video was designed to say that concealed carry is a joke and that you are wasting your time doing it and you should just run away or lay down and play dead. Thats the bottom line. Thats their message and they can kiss my a**. Flippin libtards

like the 'run, hide, fight' video from homeland security; hide and wait for authorities.... I have a better plan myself! hahaaa

sounds like this, 'bang, bang, bang...... (reload)... repeat as necessary..."

At the 19 seconds mark of this video they plainly said
"to test the ability of average people without crisis training, to react and
PROTECT themselves with a gun, under stress......"
AND it is an 'experiment' initiated by ABC News..............

"Also, I didnt see anyone of those people that I would call trained shooters. "--DD

Ya, me either.......yet we are brainwashed to think......just because a person is in law enforcement.....whatever they say is GOSPEL, and we should listen
and TRUST THEM......it just ain't reality !
You know.....like the DEA officer in the school.....and shoots himself........
'member dat video......????? BUT HE WAS AN LEO !!!

the best part is that the dreads guy who shot himself with his glock keeps going; you see the kids recoil when he goes for the rifle next!! hahhaa

"nooooooooooooooooo mister!"

that may be the way it happens with only one carrrying, but what if 2,3, 4 or maybe half the class was carrying
exactly. the other thought to go along with that is this:

if people know that a significant amount of people are armed, they won't go nuts and shoot the place up in the first place!! unless they're suicidal of course... suicide by cop, suicide by armed citizens, whatever. I think just knowing most people are armed will deter most of these whackos

Run, Hide, Fight! This is what is recomended by the left! Take a look at that mind set. They don't want us to fight back! Why? Because once we start to fight back, we might just keep right on fighting. Fighting for the rights that they have taken from us, which means that we have to fight them, the leaders of this Nation! Run, be a sheepel! Hide, be a sheeple! Fighting back is not what they want us to do!

I was wondering about those shirts myself; if I'm concealing (and thanks to you guys here on TFF I no longer do except on fed installations) it's with an open button down shirt so it's just a quick brush outta the way and my weapon doesn't snag. My timer says I can do it in well under 2 seconds from beep to bang. If someone can shoot 20+ people spread accross a room in under 2 seconds, they deserve to kill me!

The video itself is crap with opposite intentions, but what we can all agree on is that we can always use more practice no matter how good you think you are!

don't give the bastards a chance, train hard

Yes, in a manner of speaking, I CAN agree with you........more practice is good.
What I say is NOT to be SAID AS A SLAM to anyone....please don't mis-read me.

This 'new' carry-a-weapon craze has caught on like wildfire, and the gun sales
and the training classes,[ some with some very high price tags....] prove my
theory that it is a craze.....for whatever reason one chooses to do so.
For me, when I was young, hunting, shooting, carrying a revolver....etc...
was a natural act, a part of life, a piece of growing up that just was......
it just was.....and along with it came the responsibilities of being safe and
MATURE......no matter WHAT age you were !
That being said......for us that were NOT brought up that way......
for those of us that were not ever in the military, for those of us that
never had the 'basic training' so to speak, and now find ourselves in
this 21st Century way-of-thinking of s**t could hit the fan, and see
the need to arm oneself for personal/family reason in this nut-case
demented sicko socialistic liberal environment we now call Amerika,
I surely understand how it is easy for anyone 'new to the environment'
of guns to possibly follow any or all things that appear to be 'truth'......
on a forum, the internet, the news, and of course.........a friggin' VIDEO
on youtube........IT MUST BE FACTUAL....!!!
I mean no negativity towards anyone in any of my rant.......
I am simply a realist, and only seek the truth in any endeavor I encounter.....
Whatever you see, hear, heard, thought, etc....
QUESTION IT !!!!!!!
My advice.....USE YOUR BRAIN.......
[my apologies for my rant......boB, DON'T scold me please]

Yea! Imagine that.
I did.....[imagine that]....
Let me see....hmmmm......
How far back [in Presidents] would I have to go
to find a US President that would stand up to
or compare to the morality and honesty of
you, and have a love for the 2nd amendment
and the people as you do......??????
Hmmmm....how far back.....?
NOWHERE CLOSE IN SIGHT my Brother......nowhere close in sight !
