I have a few spare springs for my AR, but generally speaking I do not have spare parts for my guns.

I have some for some....AR, Ive got a spare rifle that I can scavage from, plus a few extra parts like extractors, springs, firing pin, and firing pin pins..

Several 1911 with mostly interchangable parts...and a complete spare parts kit...extra recoil springs...etc

Hmmmmm....Sorta lacking in the shotgun department...Nothing much will interchange between 870, M12, and Mossburg 930....Good idea to stock up on some...

None, unless you count a bent firing pin from a Marlin 60. :)

Small stuff , mostly. Generally good left overs from swaps, etc;. The ability to make some of the parts at home, if necessary, is a great asset. So, some raw material is useful. steel , aluminum, springs, pins, etc;. There are a lot of things not intended for guns that can be utilized.
    +1--Same as Mogunner.

I have enough guns that I don't really need spare parts. If one should break, I just take it to the smith. In a SHTF situation, I suppose that if one were to break, I would just pick up another. I always carry a BUG. I might look into getting a few spare parts for some of the guns I use most, just in case of a SHTF situation!

The only gun I regularly keep an inventory of spares is my Bullseye gun.
I keep a spare firing pin, extractor, recoil buffer and magazine. (I need two but keep three.) I have "spare" recoil springs of different powers for my 1911 to adjust for different loads. Other than these, any spares I have are accidental.

I keep springs and other wear items on hand. Just one or two of each, but enough that if should something happen, I don't have to wait for parts or find out that they're unavailable. The time to buy spares is ASAP IMO. Granted it may be 30-40 years before they're needed, but look how many people are looking for parts for an old gun and find out that they've got to have it custom made by a smith. When I pass down my guns, I know my kids aren't going to have to hunt around to fix 99% of any problems in the future. I've bought a few other parts aside from wear items if the price is right, I couldn't pass up a spare bolt assy for the BAR that I had for $30.

I build AKs and ARs for a hobby so I always have a build kit or two laying around.
I have a couple extra bolts for some of my bolt action Mosin Nigant's.
If there is any gun I have a problem with, when I buy one needed part I'll pick a few extras. If it broke ounce it will break again, or that is the way I'm thinking.
