Gun trivia, test question, it will be interesting to see who can answer it.

As a young trainee I found a small pocket about 1.5" square with a little flap on my rifle sling. I asked what it was for?

    Who here knows the answer..

  13. In Tranter's case, it may well be in the days of the Brown Bess, or at least the Martini-Henry, Delta. ::::ducking:::: :D;):p

And we have a winner! pinecone. Earplugs!!!! (Bandages! maybe one elastoplast).

As for Pistol, I am hurt. I haven't seen a Brown Bess since basic training.

I thought I saw a pouch in a surplus store with earplugs a while back. It was kind of a random handful of guesses though, I admit!

Funny that a lot of the replies were kind of in the gutter first thing!

I shall give you the same prize I used to give my kids when they were young. Given the distance you will have to find someone to officiate. Its a well earned pat on the head! :)

Then you're not as old as Pistol. ;)
