I awoke this morning feeling something not right. I went out the bedroom and headed for the back door when I noticed the floor was hot. I got dressed and looked under the house and saw the propane line going to a small heater was on fire. I crawled up to it and tried to put it out when the old boards of the house burst into flames. I went and turned the propane off while yelling for my wife to grab a fire extengisher. I crawled back and used the fire extengisher to put out the flames then ran a water hose to cool the boards. After an hour I called the fire department because the floor boards would not cool down. They eventually cut some of the floor out to put out the rest of the fire. I have got the floor fixed now and have rewired the wires that were burnt. Still I fill that I dodged a bullet today. Don

That was a close call. I'm glad you noticed it in time . We don't need any more members having any bad luck.

Yep, that Guardian Angel was working overtime for you. I'm glad you got to it before it got out of control.

More like a mortar shell . . . and real glad to hear things turned out so well under the circumstances. Not to criticize, but why didn't you have your wife call 911 after she handed you the extinguisher? Professional back-up is mighty useful in such a situation.

Don I am sorry to read about your fire but happy to hear that everything is ok. Man it is a good thing that a country boy like you doesn't wear shoes or you may not have found the fire in time.

Wow. Amazing how your intuition can tell you something is wrong. Thank God you followed it and checked it out. Cheaper and easier to replace part of a floor than a whole house.
