I am going to buy an Enfield No 4, either a Mk I or II. A fellow at the range told me the Mk I 's have misfires because the trigger is attached to the trigger guard not the receiver and it will occasionally slip out of position.

Anyone have this problem ? When I felt his trigger, there was a lot of side to side play, but I think that is not normal. Either the pin, trigger or frame holse must be very worn.
  2. Perfect solution: Buy a Mauser instead of an Enfield. :D;)

    Hi
I can't say that I have heard of any private shooters having problems but I can confirm that the No 4 MK2 was introduced 3! March 1949 and it included the trigger mod as you say, in addition to this they modified No 4 MK 1's to include the trigger mod (called them No 4 MK 1/2) and they also modified No 4 MK1*'s to include the trigger mod (called No 4 MK1/3's)

You have to guess that they did this for a reason

    Cheers

I own a #4 mk1, built in 1945 and haven't had any trouble with it. I myself have fired approx. 600 rounds through it without any problem whatsoever.
