While browsing pawn shops yesterday, I found an Enfield and was wondering if the $130 price was good.
I know very little about these guns so was looking for some advice.
From what research I've done tonight I"m pretty sure it's a no 4 mk 1. It does have
U.S. PROPERTY stamped on the receiver next to the bolt. Bluing very good and wood looks to be refinished.
Will probably try to get it but any advice will be appreciated.
    Thanks, Dan

Forgot to say I didn't get any other markings on it. Wasn't sure what I was looking at and memory isn't all that good.

If it has US PROPERTY stamped on it, it's probably a U.S. M1917 in .30-06 caliber.

Better check on it again. Makes a difference in value whether it's a British Enfield in .303 or a U.S. M1917.

If it is a No. 4 Mk. I and it's marked U.S. Property, it was made by Savage-Stevens.

    Blue Book values are:

    98% - $185
    95% - $145
    90% - $120
    80% - $ 95

And here's what the markings should look like.

Parts should match, and hopefully no import markings.
