I have been thinking about ordering a couple AR lowers on line to build over the next year. Called my LGS and asked them how much they charge for transfer and they told me $45 per item. Whats everyone else paying? That seems high.

Each shop sets their own price. I would call around. When I had my shop open, I charged 15.00 to do a transfer. You probably wont find anyone that cheap. It cost me 5.00 for the call in and I made 10.00 on the paperwork and I figured it was a way to get a new customer in the door. Some dont see it that way. Good luck.

15 at the decent gun shops here, 25 at the others. I prefer to do business with the ones that charge 15 because I feel they are trying to build a relationship with me versus trying to get rich off of one sale.

in my area you see 25-35$ call ins, and some will give you a break on subsequent call-ins on the same form. IE.. first is 35, 15$ after that for a limit of 4-5.. etc..

My LGS charges $10 per item. He says it is an inexpensive way to get customers into the store.

My LGR "local gun range" charges $30.00 for your 1st transfer, and $20.00 for each additional transfer for 1 solid year to date after the 1st. They also include a free trip into the range for the day of transfer.

I pay 10 at my local hardware store but have seen them as high as 60 dollars at a place here if you bring in a gun to transfer but if you buy the gun from them they give you a break its only 50 dollars. Thanks for the break. NOT!

We've got one shop here nearby that I will not buy anything from ever again.

    Transfer from another FFL: $25
    Transfer from an individual: $40
Transfer if shipped directly from a distributor: $100

That's just vengeful, and I don't want anything to do with them.

$20 where I trade, 35 at another place in town. Guess why I don't trade at the "other" place? My guy says it's the easiest 20 bucks he's ever made.
