Didn't think I'd ever, but, I bought one, the Remington R1 1911. Price: $659. The pic doesn't do it justice, sorry, my phone camera isn't good enough, and/or the lighting was bad.
Would have liked to get the centennial version, but, it was $500 more, so, no go on that.
I also picked up 500 rounds for it too.
Now, I'll have to start saving my pennies for some Woodnut wood grips!
My hat is off to remington for flooding the market and making these available to everyone unlike several other makers that are still trickling in everywhere.
No FTEs or FTFs at all, out of 150 rounds fired. Shot both Federal and Magtech, 230 grn FMJ. I didn't have any SD ammo to try though, will have to get some more.
Pretty simple to disassemble and clean to. The bushing was a little tight.
But, it shoots like a dream. Very easy to keep on target. I am extremely happy with this purchase.

Late congrats Graehaven, I'm sure you will enjoy this firearm for a very long time.I know a very nice fellow who dearly loves his. He's kind of a Remington nut but has several 1911's and says this is a straight shooter! Great way to start out the New Year! Oh, and like everyone else says, you WILL buy more.
