    Well, I did it. :eek::D

    Didn't think I'd ever, but, I bought one, the Remington R1 1911. Price: $659. The pic doesn't do it justice, sorry, my phone camera isn't good enough, and/or the lighting was bad.

    Would have liked to get the centennial version, but, it was $500 more, so, no go on that.

    I also picked up 500 rounds for it too. :D

    Now, I'll have to start saving my pennies for some Woodnut wood grips! :D

    Anyway..... a Happy New Year to you all.

    A set of TFF grips would look nice on it. A beautiful pistol!

    I don't think I'd go for that, but, Woodnut's Desert Ironwood, with a bit of texture looks absolutely gorgeous.

    Thanks.

    Oh yeah, I know. My phone's camera is only 1 or 2 megapixels. I didn't have my Canon Rebel Ti with me to shoot it properly.

    I'm sorry for you Jack. It is absolutely ridiculous that you can't own a .45 where you are. Unbelievable. :confused:

    Any new gun is great but a new 1911 is real special. Very nice.

    500 rounds of ammo? I'll bet that cost as much as the gun?

    Congrats on your first 1911.

    50 rounds of Federal target ammo 230 grn. (new) was $15.50 a box. I bought 10 boxes for around $170 with tax. :D

    I wish I had more money, cause I'd have bought more.

    Had 9mm for 9.99 and .40 for $13.95, wish I coulda bought a case of each.
