I have a Ruger 10-22, with serial 252-23333. I am putting it an Archangel target stock. Can anyone tell from the serial number when this firearm was made? I was going to put a flash hider on it but was told they are not legal n guns made after 1994 unless it has a thumbhole or pistol grip. The Archangel stock as a pistol grip but it is integrated into the stock in sort of a big loop configuration. I want to be sure it will be legal before I attach one.

    Thanks.

  2. Where are you, because it could be a state law that makes it illegal.

  5. yes,a flash suppressor is legal re federal law.i think you may want to check state laws, but i cant see it would be illegal other than california.i really dont count california as a regular part of the united states, because they dont really have FREEDOM there.............old semperfi

Thanks to all. Very helpful as usual. I live in Maine and I don't believe there are any laws here regarding flash suppressors. One of the websites I looked at from a dealer had the disclaimer. I know there are some Federal regs on "assualt rifles", AK's, SKS, etc., and how may adds on you can have, such as pistol grips, flash hiders, etc., but was not sure on those regs for domestic guns.

..probably are on a weapon such as an assult type but as you say, on a "domestic' firearm I doubt it. State laws vary but a flash supressor is just that, not like a "silent-deal/unit.
