22WMR, she had a Taurus PT22 but the trigger pull was too much. Sold it to my neighbor and bought this one.
LGS had no ammo but I found 50 rnd. of Win Dyna-Point and another 50 CCI Mini mag in my stash.
I have a NAA myself. I have the one that has both a .22LR cylinder and the .22 Magnum cylinder. At times, I stick it in my pocket and kind of a backup, loaded with the .22WMR. When I am out for a walk in the neighborhood, I keep it loaded with rat shot for any dog that might want to bite.
No, it may be next month before she can shoot it.
We are moving back to FL next month and won't get to the range until we get settled.
As for snappy she shot her FL CCW qual with my Smith 28.

I reload my own snake shot / critter detureant. In 45 colt and .44 they take 7.5 shot size and packs a really good slap up side the head to a would be crimminal or other vermin for that matter. I buy shot shell cups for .38/.357, .44 special and .44 mag, and 45 LC. by the way a light powder charge works best to stop the capsule from breaking inside the barrel.
Nice gun and agreed about being snappy with the mag loads. If I had to shoot it for self defense I would but just to try and shoot it I will pass. They sting like all get out.
i have carried a 22 mag mini revolver for over twentfive years, even though it by far is not all i carry.the first round is cci bird shot,i figure if i burn someone and they still come then i have done all i could to prevent taking another life.this would be very helpful in court.i practice at 5-7 feet for a head shot only,i am very proficiant at that distance.you have made a very good choice for her as long as she spends enough range time, the other side of that is the little gun in 22mag is so loud when shot it makes its own statement. old semperfi
Bought my wife one. She likes the recoil of the NAA in .22 Mag much better than that of the LCP, or snubie .38. The only problem is the single action of this gun, and it's size. I've practiced with it, and can shoot it fairly fast, but it takes a moment to get it settled into your hand before shooting. Accuracy is almost non existant (you must be inside 10') you have to be really close to hit anything at all. While it may be better than no gun at all, it's not that much better! I am currently looking at the Sig P238, SA only. Recoil won't be a problem, she likes the LCP, but the DA trigger is a bit to strong for her.

I don't know if I could wait a whole month to shoot a new gun.I have the 1860 Sheriff model in 22lr and magnum. It's a great gun but came with the larger boot grip. The mini 22 version has a smaller frame and those are real snappy and hard to hold on to so much I got rid of it.The Sheriff model is a little smaller than my Ruger Bearcat and has no issues holding it or snappy shooting comfort concerns.
Nice little guns. I have the 1 5/8 inch barrel, 22Mag. At 12 feet I have to aim 3 inches low and 2 inches to the left to allow for shift in firing. But that is "Minute of head".
Carver, You will definitely like the P238. I took my wife out shopping for a new gun. She carried a Khar for a long time in 45 ACP. She just couldnt rack the slide after awhile due to arthritis. I told the guy I wanted to see every 380 he had. He put them all on the counter. Kel-Tec, Diamondback, you name it he had it. She picked up the P238 and said this is the one I want. POA is excellent its easy to rack the slide and its a well made gun. I asked her if it was the price she looked at and thought this has to be a better gun and she told me no it just feels good. I have to agree with her it was the best feeling 380 in the shop. She didnt even get the fancy one. Hers is just a blued P238 with rosewood grips.
