After calling gun shops and looking on the net. I found myself a holster at the gun show today. Its an uncle mikes belt holster, it fits great and the retention is great also. I did try a Fobus paddle holster and I didnt like it very much when you get your gun in , its all most impossible to get it back out again. And the uncle mikes fit perfectly. Another good day at the gun show :)

The holster looks like it fits that tank of a gun very well! Congrats! :D

    Thumbs up for Uncle Mikes.
I tried a Fobus for my MKIII and immediately rejected it.

nice. hate to be the one to tell. looks like you're missing the left hand decocker on the right side of the frame. if you call ruger they'll probably send you the lever and anythign else you're missing

yeah I guess the last owner must have took it off, but its ok am right handed and it wont hurt it not to have it. I actually kinda like it that way.

I carry my SR-9 in a Fobus belt holster and it carries great and works flawlessly. The trick is to push the pistol forward as you are drawing it.

redhand, i have a fobus holster for my smith 642 and i dont have any trouble getting the gun out. but i have a friend that has a glock 17 and he has a fobus holster and cannot get the gun out. you'll give yourself a serious wedgie trying. i thought maybe something was wrong with his gun so i tried mine with the same result. his was a gen 2 glock, mine was gen 3

John, I can see where the flat edged profile of most Glocks would have to have a precisely tailored holster.

I gave up on buying holsters for my P85 many years ago. I make my own.

pretty much all holsters are custom fit to a specific gun. some of the nylon holsters like uncle mikes will fit different models, but even then one holster wouldnt fit them all.

glocks, like any other gun, have a specific shape that the holster is made to fit. most holsters made for one gun will not fit another gun unless the guns are almost identical
