My father got a Fox proof tested 3 inch chamber double barrel 20 gauge from my grandfather. On top it has "Fox Savage Arms Corperation Nestfield, Mass U.S.A Model B Patent 8,005,268". On the under side it has "Fox B-c". Could anybody give me more info in this shotgun and approx value. Thank you in advance for all the help.

    Eric.

erj, looks like it is from the 1960's. Nice gun, I own a 16 Ga. but I doubt if the value is more than $200.00 in cherry condition. Maybe because it's a 20 Ga. it may be worth a little more but I kinda doubt it.

In my area of Eastern PA - Savage Fox SxS in 20 ga. will sell between $250 (well used) to around $400 (v.good+). Since these were mid price range field guns to start, you very rarely see one in excellent, let alone NIB condition.

I have aSavage Fox model B in 16 ga myself. Great shooters. The 20 ga is the most desirable besides the 410. The 20 here will sell in the $400 range retail. I will add that about 6 years ago that gun would sell in the $600-$800 range but now they are much less. The 16 is at least $100 cheaper retail. The 12 ga is about the same as the 20 ga as to value. You have a great shooting SxS there and being it was your grand fathers, I would oil it and keep it to cherish (as well as hunt with) till you can pass it on to your son or grandson. Just my 2 cents.
